Dart, feed and tame dinosaurs · Works on mobile & desktop · No download

Dino Tamer is a free dinosaur taming game. Dinosaurs wander across a prehistoric valley and you have 90 seconds and a quiver of sleep darts. Knock a dinosaur out, then keep feeding it berries until the taming bar fills. Small dinosaurs are quick to tame, while the big ones need more darts and much more patience but are worth far more points.

Tap a dinosaur to fire a sleep dart. Big dinosaurs need more darts. When one falls asleep, keep tapping it to feed it berries until the yellow taming bar is full. Stop feeding and it wakes up and runs away.

How to Play Dino Tamer

  1. Tap the game to start a 90 second round with 35 sleep darts.
  2. Tap a walking dinosaur to hit it with a dart. The purple bar shows how sleepy it is.
  3. When the bar is full, the dinosaur falls asleep. Compy needs 1 dart, Raptor 2, Triceratops 4 and Rex 6.

  5. If you stop feeding, it wakes up and runs away. A full yellow bar means it is tamed.

Tips to Win

  • Start with a Compy. One dart is enough and it tames fast.
  • The purple bar is sleep. If it runs out, the dinosaur wakes up and runs away.
  • Feeding also keeps a dinosaur asleep, so do not stop tapping until it is tamed.
  • Save darts for the Rex. It needs six, but it is worth 120 points.

Dinosaur Taming Guide

  • Compy: small and quick to tame. 1 dart.
  • Raptor: fast moving, so aim ahead. 2 darts.
  • Triceratops: tough and slow. 4 darts.
  • Rex: rare, needs 6 darts and lots of feeding, and is worth 120 points.

The Two Bars Explained

Each dinosaur has two bars. The purple sleep bar fills as you hit it with darts, and when it is full the dinosaur falls asleep. While it sleeps, the purple bar slowly drains. The yellow taming bar fills as you tap to feed berries. Feeding also keeps it asleep, so keep tapping until the yellow bar is full.

How Scoring Works in Dino Tamer

Bigger dinosaurs score more points in Dino Tamer, and the Rex is worth 120 points, the biggest score from a single tame.

Your score comes only from dinosaurs you finish taming. A dinosaur that wakes up and runs away scores nothing, however many darts and berries went into it. The four dinosaurs score in size order: the small Compy is worth the least, then the Raptor, then the Triceratops, then the Rex at 120 points.

Two counters run beside your score. The Tamed counter tracks how many dinosaurs you have tamed in the round, and the Best counter keeps your best score. Best scores are saved in your browser on this device, so you can chase your own record on the next round.

Spending Your Darts Wisely

Your 35 darts are the real limit in Dino Tamer, so the strongest rounds come from a simple plan: tame quick dinosaurs early, finish every tame you start, and keep six darts in reserve for a Rex.

  • The maths is tight. One Rex at 6 darts and one Triceratops at 4 darts already use 10 of your 35 darts, before any feeding time is spent.
  • Never leave a sleeping dinosaur half fed to chase a bigger one. An unfinished tame that wakes up wastes every dart spent on it.
  • Small dinosaurs are safe points. A Compy costs 1 dart and tames fast, which makes it the right target while you wait for a Rex to wander past.
  • Watch the clock as well as the quiver. Starting a Rex near the end of the 90 seconds leaves too little feeding time to fill the yellow bar.

Good to Know

Which dinosaurs are in Dino Tamer?

There are four: the small Compy, the fast Raptor, the tough Triceratops and the rare Rex. Bigger dinosaurs need more darts and score more.

Why did my dinosaur wake up?

A sleeping dinosaur slowly loses sleep. If you stop feeding it before the yellow taming bar is full, it wakes up and escapes.

How many darts do you get in Dino Tamer?
