What Is New in Palworld 1.0?

• 72 new Pals, bringing the total to 287.
• New areas, including the World Tree and a new large island.
• A reworked story and progression with better pacing in the early and middle game.
• Connection improvements to reduce lag and rubberbanding on servers.
• No wipe: your old saves and bases still work, and the update is free for everyone who owns the game.

Is Palworld Crossplay?

Yes. Crossplay arrived in the v0.5.0 update in March 2025. Players on Steam, Xbox, Game Pass for PC, PS5 and Mac can play together. Up to 4 players can join a co-op world, and dedicated servers hold up to 32 players. Console players join servers through the in game server list, because they cannot type an IP address. There is no full cross save between stores, so your Steam world does not move to PS5.

Is Palworld on PS5 and Nintendo Switch?

Palworld is available on PS5 and launched version 1.0 on PlayStation on the same day as PC and Xbox. It is not available on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2.

How Breeding Works in Palworld

• Build a Breeding Farm at your base.
• Assign one male and one female Pal to the farm.
• Put a Cake in the farm’s chest. Each egg uses one cake.
• Collect the egg and hatch it in an Egg Incubator.
• The baby is decided by both parents, and it can inherit their passive skills, so breed Pals with good passives together.

Some combinations always give a special result, which is why players use a breeding calculator to plan the best Pals.

Palworld Element Chart: Strengths and Weaknesses

• Fire beats Grass and Ice, but is weak to Water.
• Water beats Fire, but is weak to Electric.
• Grass beats Ground, but is weak to Fire.
• Electric beats Water, but is weak to Ground.
• Ground beats Electric, but is weak to Grass.
• Ice beats Dragon, but is weak to Fire.
• Dragon beats Dark, but is weak to Ice.
• Dark beats Neutral, but is weak to Dragon.
• Neutral has no strength and is weak to Dark.

Base Building Tips for New Players

• Build near several resources at once, such as stone, ore and trees, so your Pals can work without walking far.
• Choose flat ground. Bases on slopes cause Pals to get stuck.
• Give every worker Pal a bed, food in a feed box and hot springs to keep their sanity up.
• Match Pals to jobs: Fire types for smelting, Water for watering crops, Grass for planting and Electric for generators.
• Raise your base level by completing base missions so more Pals can work there.
