GTA 6 Release Date, Price & Countdown

When Is GTA 6 Coming Out?

Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 comes out on Thursday, November 19, 2026. The game launches first on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Use the countdown at the top of this page to see exactly how many days, hours and minutes are left until GTA 6 release day.

GTA 6 Delay History

GTA 6 has moved twice since it was first revealed:

• December 2023: the first trailer revealed GTA 6 with a “2025” release window.
• May 2025: Rockstar delayed the game to May 26, 2026.
• November 2025: Rockstar delayed it again to November 19, 2026, which is the current confirmed date.

Since then, Rockstar has opened pre-orders and confirmed the pre-load date, which are strong signs that the November 19 date is locked in.

GTA 6 Price and Editions

Rockstar has announced two editions of Grand Theft Auto VI:

• Standard Edition ($79.99): the full GTA 6 story experience.
• Ultimate Edition ($99.99): the full game plus an exclusive set of premium vehicles, weapons, outfits and extra content across Jason and Lucia’s story.

Prices are for the US. Prices in other countries depend on the local PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and retailers.

How to Pre-Order GTA 6 and Get the Bonus

GTA 6 pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026. You can pre-order on the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Games Store and at major retailers.

• Vintage Vice City Pack: every pre-order and every purchase made before November 20, 2026 gets this bonus pack of retro Vice City themed items.
• Free month of GTA+: digital pre-orders also include one month of GTA+.
• Physical copies: the box contains a download code, so you will still need to download the game.

GTA 6 Pre-Load and Unlock Time

If you pre-order the digital version, you can pre-load GTA 6 from November 12, 2026, one week before launch, so the game is ready to play the moment it unlocks. Rockstar has not yet shared the exact unlock time for each region or the final download size. We will add both here as soon as they are announced.

Is GTA 6 Coming to PC?

Not at launch. Rockstar has not announced a PC version or a GTA 6 PC release date yet. In the past, Rockstar released GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC months after the console versions, so many players expect a similar plan, but this is not confirmed. Official PC system requirements have also not been released.

Is GTA 6 Coming to PS4 or Xbox One?

No. GTA 6 is only confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version.

GTA 6 Trailers

• Trailer 1 (December 2023): introduced Vice City and Lucia. It was released early after a leak and broke YouTube viewing records.
• Trailer 2 (May 2025): showed Jason and Lucia’s story and much more of Leonida.
• “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look” (August 27, 2026): a longer look at the game that premiered on Netflix before arriving on YouTube. It reached over 31 million views on Netflix in its first four days.

GTA 6 Map: Leonida and Vice City

GTA 6 takes place in the fictional state of Leonida, Rockstar’s take on Florida. Its biggest city is Vice City, inspired by Miami, with neon nightlife, beaches and highways. The trailers also show swamps, small towns, keys and wetlands across Leonida, making it one of the most varied maps in the series.

GTA 6 Characters: Lucia and Jason

The story follows two main characters, Lucia and Jason. Lucia is the first female lead in a mainline GTA game. After an easy score goes wrong, the couple get caught in a criminal conspiracy that spreads across the state of Leonida.

Will GTA 6 Have Online Multiplayer?

Rockstar has not yet shared details or a date for a new GTA Online mode for GTA 6. The Standard Edition is described as the full single-player story experience. We will update this section when Rockstar confirms online plans.
