Block Miner: Free Mining Game Online

Dig deep, find ores, avoid lava · Works on mobile & desktop · No download

Block Miner is a free digging game you play right in your browser. You start on the grass with a pickaxe and a limited amount of energy, then tunnel down through dirt, stone and deep rock. Coal, iron, gold and rare gems give you points, green energy crystals refill your bar, and glowing lava pools end your run the moment you dig into one. Every world is generated fresh, so no two mines are the same.

Block Miner is free to play on PlayQuestHQ with no download and no sign-up. It works on phones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers.

Tips to Win

  • Dirt costs 1 energy, stone 2 and deep rock 3, so plan short routes between ores.
  • Walk back through tunnels you already dug. Moving through open space is free.
  • Gold appears deeper down and gems only near the bottom, so do not waste energy near the surface.
  • Always grab green energy crystals. One crystal pays for many blocks.

Block Miner Rules at a Glance

Block Miner is a digging game where every block you dig costs energy, and a run ends when the energy runs out or you dig into lava. The whole game fits on one card.

StartOn the grass with a pickaxe and a limited energy bar
Digging costsDirt 1 energy, stone 2, deep rock 3
MovingWalking through tunnels you already dug is free
PointsEvery ore you dig, plus one point per metre of deepest depth
Energy backGreen energy crystals refill your bar
Run endsEnergy at zero, or digging into lava

Deeper is always better: gold sits deep, gems sit near the bottom, and every metre down adds to the score.

Energy Costs and Planning a Route

  • Dirt costs 1 energy, stone 2 and deep rock 3.
  • Walking through tunnels you already dug is free.
  • Green energy crystals refill your bar.
  • Lava ends the run instantly, so check the blocks around you before you dig sideways.

A good run digs straight down through the cheap layers, then branches toward ores and crystals.

Ores, Crystals and Lava: What Is Underground

The deeper you dig in Block Miner, the richer the ground gets. Coal and iron fill the upper layers, gold only appears deeper down, and gems hide near the very bottom.

CoalCommon in the upper ground, steady early points
IronFound below the coal, worth more as you descend
GoldDeeper down, worth more than coal and iron
GemsOnly near the bottom, the richest finds in the mine
Green crystalsRefill your energy bar
LavaGlowing pools that end the run on contact

Because deeper ores are worth more, the highest scores come from runs that reach the gold and gem layers before the energy runs out.

Block Miner vs Other Mining Games

Block Miner is an original PlayQuestHQ game built around one idea: limited energy. Instead of crafting and building, every run is a short puzzle about which blocks are worth the energy. Each world is generated fresh, so you cannot memorise a route. If you prefer building, try our Block Builder sandbox.

Good to Know

How is the Block Miner score worked out?

Your final score is the points from every ore you dug plus one point for each metre of your deepest depth.

What ends a run in Block Miner?

A run ends when your energy reaches zero or when you dig into a lava block.

What ores can you find in Block Miner?

Coal, iron, gold and gems. Gold appears deeper down and gems only near the bottom of the mine, so deeper ores are worth more.

Is Block Miner a Minecraft game?

No. Block Miner is an original digging game made by PlayQuestHQ, and it is not made by or linked to Minecraft, Mojang or Microsoft. It is a short browser game about energy, ores and depth, with no crafting, building or accounts.

Is Block Miner free to play?

Yes, Block Miner is free to play in your browser on PlayQuestHQ. There is no download, no sign-up and no cost. Open the page and start digging.

Can I play Block Miner on my phone?

Yes. Block Miner runs in your phone browser with no download and no sign-up. You dig by swiping on the game, tapping next to your miner, or using the four on-screen arrow buttons.

Is every Block Miner world the same?

No. Every new mine is generated fresh, so the ore positions, crystal spots and lava pools change on every run. Your best score is saved in your browser, but the underground layout never repeats.

Is my Block Miner progress saved?
