How the Waves Work
Raiders arrive in waves from every side of the map. Each new wave is tougher than the last, with more raiders. Faster runners appear more often in later waves, and from wave 3 big brutes join in. When a wave is cleared there is a pause of about two seconds and a wave bonus, which is the best time to pick up medkits and move to an open area before the next attack.
Medkits and Staying Alive: When to Heal
Each white medkit restores 25 health, and when you take one matters almost as much as taking it at all. A medkit used on a small scratch wastes most of its value, because the heal is a flat 25 whether you are nearly full or nearly finished.
- Wait until the heal counts: hold on through light damage and save each kit for a moment when the full 25 will land.
- Heal in the wave break: the short pause after a wave clears, about two seconds, is the safest moment to cross the map and pick medkits up.
- Never dive through the pack: a medkit behind a crowd of raiders can cost more health to reach than it gives back. Circle round and come at it from the open side.
- Keep moving after healing: a topped up health bar is not armour. Standing still to enjoy it lets the next wave surround you.
Kiting: The Key Survival Skill
Kiting means moving so enemies follow you in a line instead of surrounding you. Run in wide circles around the edge of the map and your automatic gun will hit the raiders closest behind you. Avoid corners, where you can get trapped, and change direction if raiders start coming from both sides.
Mistakes That End a Run
Most runs in Wasteland Survivor end the same few ways: the player gets surrounded, cornered or caught crossing the pack to reach health. All of them come from movement, the one thing you control.
- Standing still: your gun only ever shoots the nearest raider, so a player who stops is quickly ringed by enemies with no gap to escape through.
- Backing into a corner: open ground gives you a full circle of escape routes. A corner gives you none, and the pack only has to walk forward.
- Ignoring the fast runners: runners in later waves reach you first and pin you in place, which lets the slower raiders close in.
- Running straight at a medkit: the shortest line to health often runs through the whole pack. Go around, not through.
- Wasting the wave break: the pause after a cleared wave is for collecting medkits and moving to open ground, not standing where the fight ended.
Good to Know
Do you have to aim in Wasteland Survivor?
No, you never aim or fire by hand. Your gun aims and fires at the nearest raider automatically, so your whole job is moving, dodging and picking up medkits. Staying on the move is what keeps you alive, because the shooting looks after itself.
How much health does a medkit give in Wasteland Survivor?
Each white medkit restores 25 health. Medkits are the only healing in the game, so timing matters: a kit used on a small scratch wastes most of its value. The short pause after a wave clears is the safest time to collect them.
What are the big enemies in Wasteland Survivor?
The big enemies are brutes: slow, heavily built raiders that take many hits before they fall. Brutes join the attack from wave 3 onwards. Keep your distance and keep moving in wide circles while your gun wears them down, and never let one push you into a corner.
Can I play Wasteland Survivor on my phone?
Yes, Wasteland Survivor plays in the browser on phones and tablets as well as on laptops and desktop computers, with nothing to download. On a phone you drag anywhere on the game to move, and your gun still aims and fires on its own.
Is there a final wave in Wasteland Survivor?
No, there is no final wave to beat. A new and tougher wave follows every wave you clear, with faster runners appearing more often and brutes joining from wave 3. The run ends only when your health runs out, so your score is measured by how far you get.
