99 Nights in the Forest Halloween Update: All New Quests and Rewards

The 99 Nights in the Forest Halloween update is live right now and runs through October 31, 2026. It adds two things at once: a Trick or Treat candy event and the Helping Happy quest, and both feed the same reward shop. For every Roblox guide on this site, start at our Roblox guides hub. This guide covers both quests, the fastest way to farm Candy, every shop price, and which reward you should pick, so you can finish before the event closes.
The short version: wear a costume before you knock on any door, save your Candy for the big rewards first, and do the Helping Happy quest as early as you can, because its reward is a permanent choice you only get to make once.
99 Nights in the Forest Halloween event dates and how to start
Trick or Treat Part 1 launched on October 17, 2026, and the Halloween activities stay available through October 31, 2026. You do not need to finish the Helping Happy quest first. The moment you load into a run during the event window, the map changes: pumpkins, Halloween decorations, and event structures appear across the forest.
To start earning Candy, find a costume and put it on. Costume pieces are scattered around the map. Without a costume equipped, trick or treating at night is a guaranteed Trick: you get a debuff and zero Candy. With at least one costume piece you can start knocking, and with a full matching costume set you get the maximum Candy payout per house.
How to trick or treat and farm Candy fast
Once you are costumed up, walk to a decorated house at night and press E to knock. Each successful visit pays Candy, the event currency. Candy persists between runs and is not lost when you die, so every piece you collect counts toward your shop total even if the run goes badly.
The fastest farm plan is simple:
- Get a full matching costume set first. Mixed pieces pay less, and the full set is what pushes you to the top payout per visit.
- Knock at night, house after house, without stopping to fight anything you do not have to fight.
- Buy the Trick or Treater class early (30 Candies) if you plan to farm a lot. It adds 1 Candy per house, which adds up fast across many visits.
- Bank Candy across runs toward the expensive rewards instead of spending it on cheap furniture first.
One planning number helps: the Vampire Alpha Wolf costs 200 Candies, so if you are earning around 8 Candy per visit in a full costume, that is roughly 25 good visits. Spread over a few runs, that is very doable before October 31.
Helping Happy quest walkthrough: all 6 body parts
Next to your campfire you will find a wooden stake, Happy’s pumpkin head, and Happy’s Scythe. Talk to Happy to learn what happened, then pick up the Scythe. It starts out about as strong as a Spear, but it levels up as you use it on wolves, cobwebs, and other targets. Clearing cobwebs with it can also drop ammo, morsels, and even cultists, so it is worth swinging at every web you pass.
Happy’s body was scattered across the map, and the parts hide in new Halloween-themed structures. Here is where each one is:
| Body part | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Right Leg | At a windmill structure |
| Left Leg | Inside a barn |
| Left Arm | Hidden inside a stone-brick structure |
| Right Arm | In the mouth of an Alpha Wolf, kill it to make it drop |
| Hat | On top of a Cultist’s head |
| Torso | Near a pumpkin farm, trapped beneath a cart |
For the Torso, harvest eight pumpkins from the farm and place them on the cart to free it. Once you have all six parts, put them back together at the stake and watch Happy celebrate. But the quest is not over: the Ram returns and knocks Happy’s pumpkin head clean off. Wait for the Ram to appear again at night and lure it into hitting something solid, like a stone structure or a tree. When it collides, the head comes loose and you can reattach it. That completes the quest.
Which Helping Happy reward should you pick
Finishing the quest gives you a choice of one reward only. You cannot take all three, so pick by how you actually play:
- Vampire Cloak: pick this if you like surviving longer and playing carefully. It is the safe, always-useful choice.
- Bouncing Blade: pick this if you fight up close and want a stronger melee weapon for wolves and cultists.
- Laser Cannon: pick this if you prefer ranged damage and clearing threats before they reach you.
There is no wrong answer, but there is no second pick either. If you mostly play solo, the Cloak or the Cannon will help you more than a melee weapon, because staying alive matters more than damage when nobody is there to revive you.
Halloween shop prices and what to buy first
Candy buys limited-time and permanent rewards in the Halloween shop. Items marked seasonal disappear when the event ends, so buy those before anything permanent if you want them. Here are the reported prices:
| Reward | Candy cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Vampire Alpha Wolf | 200 | Rarest shop reward, save for this first |
| Skeleton Wolf taming skin | 500 | Permanent |
| Pumpkin Bunny taming skin | 150 | Permanent |
| Trick or Treater class | 30 | +1 Candy per house, buy early if farming |
| Jack-o’-lantern furniture | 20 | Decoration |
| Spooky Table furniture | 20 | Decoration |
| Spooky Chairs furniture | 20 | Decoration |
Buy order that makes sense: Trick or Treater class first if you will farm a lot, then the Vampire Alpha Wolf while it is still available, then the permanent taming skins, and furniture last. Spending 20 Candy on a chair before you own the 200-Candy wolf is the classic mistake.
Halloween badges and free Diamonds
The update adds three event badges, and all three are earned by playing, not by buying. Check your progress in the Quest/Badge menu in the lobby:
- Candy Collecting: collect your first Candy.
- Carving: carve a pumpkin at a carving table. Find carving tables in cultist camps, bring a harvested pumpkin, choose a face, and you also unlock the Jack-o’-Lantern blueprint. This badge awards Candy plus 2 Diamonds.
- Costuming: trick or treat while wearing a complete matching costume. This badge also awards Candy plus 2 Diamonds.
Do Carving and Costuming even if you do not care about badges, because the Diamonds are free and the Costuming run doubles as your best Candy farm.
Halloween codes for free Candy and Gems
Two codes have been reported for this event. Redeem them through the standard shop menu in the lobby:
- happyhalloween: 10 Candies
- afterparty: 15 Gems
Codes can expire without warning, so redeem them as soon as you read this. If a code no longer works, it has expired and there is nothing to fix on your side.
Mistakes that cost you Candy
- Trick or treating with no costume at night: guaranteed Trick, debuff, zero Candy. Always grab a costume piece first.
- Mixing costume pieces: you still get Candy, but less per house than a full matching set.
- Spending on furniture first: seasonal rewards like the Vampire Alpha Wolf leave on October 31. Furniture can wait.
- Skipping the Scythe: it levels up as you use it, and it clears cobwebs that drop useful loot. Carry it from the start of a run.
- Forgetting the Ram step: reassembling Happy is only half the quest. The reward comes after you lure the Ram into a solid object and reattach the head.
One more connection worth knowing: 99 Nights in the Forest is also one of the nine games in Roblox’s The Hollow Halloween event, where its monster is The Deer. If you are hunting Hollow rewards too, the two events overlap but have separate quests and separate reward claims, so finish the Halloween shop first since it ends October 31.

You can only pick one. Solo players get the most value from the Vampire Cloak or the Laser Cannon, while aggressive melee players should take the Bouncing Blade. There is no way to claim a second reward later.
Buy the Trick or Treater class first if you plan to farm Candy, then save for the Vampire Alpha Wolf at 200 Candies before it leaves on October 31. Permanent taming skins come next, and furniture last.
