Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This page explains, in simple words, what information PlayQuestHQ collects, why we collect it and how we keep it safe. We collect as little as possible.
Information You Give Us
- Newsletter: when you subscribe, we save your email address and the date, so we can send you updates.
- Contact form or email: when you write to us, we get your name, email and message. We keep a copy so no message gets lost.
You do not need an account to read our guides or play our games.
Information Collected Automatically
Like almost every website, our servers receive basic technical details when you visit. This includes your IP address, browser, device type and the pages you open. We use this to keep the site safe, fix problems and see which pages are popular.
Your Game Scores
Our games save your best scores and settings in your browser, on your own device. This is called local storage. We cannot see this data and it is never sent to us. You can delete it anytime by clearing your browser data.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved by your browser. We use:
- Essential cookies that help the website work and load fast.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics (through Site Kit by Google). They help us understand which pages people visit. Google may collect your IP address and browsing activity on our site. See how Google uses this data.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also turn off Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Advertising
We may show ads, for example through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to our site and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info. Where the law requires it, such as in Europe and the UK, we will ask for your permission first.
How We Use Your Information
- To run and improve our website and games.
- To reply to your messages.
- To send the newsletter you asked for. You can unsubscribe anytime.
- To see how many people visit and which pages they like.
- To protect the site from spam and attacks.
We never sell your personal information.
Who Helps Us Run the Site
We use a few trusted services: Hostinger hosts our website and email, Google provides analytics (and ads, if shown), and WordPress plugins help with speed, safety and SEO. They only get the information they need to do their job.
How Long We Keep It
- Newsletter emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Contact messages: only as long as we need them, and never more than 24 months.
- Analytics data: as set by Google, usually 14 months or less.
Your Rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop using it. People in Europe (GDPR) and California (CCPA) have extra rights by law. Just email contact@playquesthq.com and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Players of all ages can enjoy our games, and they do not ask for any personal details. Our newsletter and contact form are for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us their details, email us and we will delete them.
Keeping Your Data Safe
Our site uses HTTPS (the padlock in your browser) and we take care to protect your information. Still, no website can promise 100% security.
Other Websites
We link to official game sites and stores. When you visit them, their own privacy policies apply.
Changes to This Policy
